(All other staff members will be identified <br /> 18 appropriately below) <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Vice Chair Bedford called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 A roll call was called; Vice Chair Bedford, Commissioner Fowler, Commissioner Greene, and <br /> 23 Commissioner Hamilton were present; Chair Price, Commissioner Dorosin, and Commissioner <br /> 24 McKee were absent. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Due to current public health concerns, the Board of Commissioners is conducting a Virtual <br /> 27 Budget Work Session on May 20, 2021 utilizing Zoom. Members of the Board of Commissioners <br /> 28 will be participating in the meeting remotely. As in prior meetings, members of the public will be <br /> 29 able to view and listen to the meeting via live streaming video at <br /> 30 orangecountync.gov/967/Meeting-Videos and on Orange County Gov-TV on channels 1301 or <br /> 31 97.6 (Spectrum Cable). <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Vice Chair Bedford welcomed all attendees, and briefly went over the agenda for the <br /> 34 meeting. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 1. FY 2021-22 Fire District Tax Rates, Pgs. 259-264 <br /> 37 ■ Damascus Fire District and Southern Triangle Fire Service District, Pg. 260 <br /> 38 ■ Efland Fire District, Pg. 260 <br /> 39 ■ Little River Fire District, Pg. 261 <br /> 40 ■ Orange Rural Fire District, Pg. 263 <br /> 41 ■ White Cross Fire District, Pg. 263 <br /> 42 <br /> 43 BACKGROUND: <br /> 44 During tonight's work session, Commissioners will have the opportunity to dialogue with six (6) <br /> 45 fire districts, who requested tax rate increases for FY 2021-22. As in the past, fire districts <br /> 46 requesting tax rate increases present their needs for a tax increase to the Commissioners at a <br /> 47 work session. Staff has invited representatives from these districts to tonight's virtual work <br /> 48 session to answer any questions and/or provide additional information to the Board regarding <br /> 49 their increase. <br /> 50 <br />
