I don't see any elected officials at any level <br /> wanting to carry this football. <br /> Alicia Reid—Yes...A current Republican Legislator and Democratic Governor will change in the future and <br /> there will be difference in decision making in every area of government. Having alternatives and continual open-minds to <br /> change (such as this Board)will make sure communities and government work together. <br /> Jenn Sykes—I'd love rank choice voting but in no world would the GA let that happen. I can get the <br /> studies on the voter satisfaction on that if you want them at some point, but not politically <br /> viable right now. <br /> DISTRICT 1 <br /> Kathy Arab—We need more than two districts, especially with the large number of transient voters in <br /> our county. Permanent residents need to have their voices heard more fairly. <br /> Jennifer Bremer—Nah. County commission redistricting is complicated enough as it is. I think the <br /> current legislation provides enough alternatives to select from. I'm deeply concerned about access to wealth—or lack thereof <br /> —being a huge factor in "electability" right now. Creating smaller districts should mitigate <br /> that somewhat by lowering the number of households one would want to reach with <br /> paid mailers, yard signs, etc (big ticket campaign expenses), but the best fix would be to <br /> take fundraising out of county elections entirely through public financing. <br /> Also, should we wind up with multi-member districts, I'd love to see a deeper look at <br /> ranked-choice voting as an alternative to the current system. For me as a voter, I'd much <br /> rather rank candidates in multiseat races than have to decide whether to use all my votes <br /> and potentially help my second choice candidate beat my first choice candidate (with <br /> two seats available) or to cast only one vote to give the best chances to my top choice <br /> candidate (which I have done). <br /> Krishna Mondal—No <br /> Jonathan Weiler—(No Comments Submitted) <br />
