2
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Continued use of the POSI-SHELL application system will continue to
preserve space in the existing landfill, whose ultimate height is limited in the State-issued
permit. Use of a '/4 inch daily cover compared to 6 inches of daily soil application has been one
of the factors that has allowed the existing landfill's anticipated usable life to be extended into
2009. The terms of the renewal agreement for the equipment lease, Mineral Binder and Post-
Pakcosts reflect no increase from ~rhe costs of these elements under the 2001-03 agreement.
Adequate funds of $91,000 are budgeted in the FY 2003-04 Solid Waste Management budget
for the purchase of the materials and the lease of the applicator.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Ma Hager recommends that the Board approve the renewal of
the lease/license agreement with L,~ndfill Service Corporation and authorize the Chair to sign it,
subject to final review by Staff and County Attorney.
