Approve the designation of a 2015 Inmar inflatable rubber boat (vessel I.D. <br /> IMG3SA45J415) and accompanying 20 HP Suzuki (02002F-513562) jet prop as surplus <br /> property; and <br /> 2. Approve the attached resolution approving and authorizing staff to complete the transfer of <br /> ownership of the boatd to Orange Rural Fire Department. <br /> BACKGROUND: In 2015, Emergency Services was authorized to purchase an inflatable boat <br /> and motor to enhance swiftwater rescue capabilities within the county. This particual vessel was <br /> assigned to the Orange Rural Fire Department. The fire department has had sole possession of <br /> the equipment since the acquisition and has utilized the equipment on several emergency <br /> situations. The vessel has met its 5 year life expectancy and is having difficulty staying inflated. <br /> Orange Rural Fire Department wishes to trade-in the current inflatable for a new vessel and has <br /> received approval to incur all associated additional expenses. Designating this vessel for disposal <br /> will ensure the boat is properly decommissioned and decrease the amount of funding necessary <br /> for the fire department to replace it. If approved, County staff will transfer the title and ownership <br /> to Orange Rural Fire Department. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The total assessed value of the vessel is around $500 and $3,000 for the <br /> engine. Orange Rural Fire Department will incur the replacement costs (for the boat) of <br /> approximately $3,000. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is applicable to <br /> this item: <br />
