5 <br /> • The Planning and Inspections Department has deferred revenue for the following <br /> programs: <br /> o Building Inspections — As of June 30, 2021, the department has $122,973 in <br /> deferred revenue, for use in FY 2021-22, related to Building Inspections. <br /> o Erosion Control — As of June 30, 2021, the department has $52,866 in deferred <br /> revenue, for use in FY 2021-22, related to Erosion Control. <br /> This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these deferred revenues for use in <br /> FY 21-22. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ESTABLISH SUSTAINABLE AND EQUITABLE LAND-USE AND <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES <br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of people of all races, cultures, <br /> incomes and educational levels with respect to the development and enforcement <br /> of environmental laws, regulations, policies, and decisions. Fair treatment means <br /> that no group of people should bear a disproportionate share of the negative <br /> environmental consequences resulting from industrial, governmental and <br /> commercial operations or policies. <br /> • GOAL: ENABLE FULL CIVIC PARTICIPATION <br /> Ensure that Orange County residents are able to engage government through voting <br /> and volunteering by eliminating disparities in participation and barriers to <br /> participation. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: The following Orange County Environmental Responsibility <br /> Goal impact is applicable to this item: <br /> • CLEAN OR AVOIDED TRANSPORTATION <br /> Implement programs that monitor and improve local and regional air quality by 1) <br /> promoting public transportation options, 2) decreasing dependence on single- <br /> occupancy vehicles, and 3) otherwise minimizing the need for travel. <br /> Orange County Transportation Services <br /> 3. At its December 15, 2020 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved <br /> the budgeting of $448,396 from the North Carolina Department of Transportation through <br /> Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization 5307 CARES Act for a <br /> federal pass-through multi-year grant to replace the current camera system and cover <br /> eligible salary reimbursement for existing personnel. However, by June 30, 2021, salary <br /> reimbursement and contract services totaling only $352,034 had been performed. This <br /> budget amendment provides for re-budgeting for the receipt of the remaining amount of <br /> $96,362 for contract services and IT equipment. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goals applicable <br /> to this item: <br />
