She said the trainings will offer various levels of equipping. <br /> 3 Commissioner Bedford asked whom she should follow on social media. <br /> 4 Annette Moore said to follow the Human Relations Commission (HRC) on social media. <br /> 5 She said the HRC has a young person conducting the social media outreach to help capture the <br /> 6 younger folks now and have them engaged and involved for a lifetime. She said a calendar of <br /> 7 events will be put out, and the HRC will host engagement opportunities. <br /> 8 Commissioner Bedford said the interns can help with this. <br /> 9 Chair Price said it is important for the work to be intergenerational. <br /> 10 Commissioner Bedford said it is incredible and valuable that the towns are coming <br /> 11 along, and everyone can be on the same page. <br /> 12 Annette Moore said one of the suggestions was to present at the Assembly of <br /> 13 Governments meeting. Orange County is the first in the nation where all jurisdictions are having <br /> 14 the discussion to be on the same page. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 12. Information Items (This item was moved from later in the agenda) <br /> 17 <br /> 18 • June 1, 2021 BOCC Meeting Follow-up Actions List <br /> 19 • Tax Assessor's Report— Releases/Refunds under$100 <br /> 20 • Memorandum — NC Mountains to Sea Trail Progress Report <br /> 21 <br /> 22 The Board agreed by consensus to go to item 12 in order to allow the public to speak. <br /> 23 Bonnie Hammersley said she was hoping to have a presentation for this meeting, but <br /> 24 that could not happen. She decided to put a quarterly report on the agenda, and will continue to <br /> 25 do this. She said there will also be a presentation by staff on the status. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> 28 Allan Green said he was hoping to hearing from Chris Henley on the status of the MST, <br /> 29 but he has read the report. He said he was encouraged to find that there was progress made <br /> 30 over the last year, though not as much as the Friends of the Mountains to Sea Trail would have <br /> 31 preferred. He said in the absence of a report, and given the time, he would ask the Board to <br /> 32 encourage David Stancil, Department of Environment, Agriculture, Parks and Recreation <br /> 33 Director, to participate more frequently in the planning process. <br /> 34 Commissioner Greene thanked Mr. Green for his comment, and endorsed his request <br /> 35 for County staff to be more directly engaged in this process. <br /> 36 Chair Price said thanked Mr. Green for his comments, and for his patience in waiting so <br /> 37 long. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 8.
