28 <br /> 1 After receiving all the feedback from each jurisdiction, staff will incorporate the changes into the <br /> 2 Plan as well as the feedback from the community stakeholders. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 Next Steps <br /> 5 <br /> 6 1. Community Engagement- Over the summer, staff plans to conduct additional <br /> 7 community engagement. The Racial Equity Plan Framework has been translated into <br /> 8 Spanish, Chinese, Burmese and Karen. Staff will take the racial equity plan to <br /> 9 communities of color and other communities groups to get their feedback on the plan. <br /> 10 Staff will also reach out to both schools systems to see if they want to join in this <br /> 11 process. The Department has also hired a social media consultant to provide <br /> 12 information and get feedback from diverse groups of residents about the racial equity <br /> 13 plan. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 2. Training — <br /> 16 <br /> 17 a. Racial Equity Foundation Training -The Carrboro GARE Team has almost <br /> 18 completed providing training to their employees on the Racial Equity Foundations <br /> 19 Training and will be starting to provide this training to their Advisory Boards and <br /> 20 Commissions. County employees have received DEI Training, while not the <br /> 21 same as the Foundation training. Staff would like to bypass employees and begin <br /> 22 training County Boards and Commissions on the Racial Equity Foundations <br /> 23 Training. Staff believes that the next training employees may need is anti-bias <br /> 24 training. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 b. Racial Equity Tool Kit - Staff would also like train a small group on the racial <br /> 27 equity tools so efforts can begin to pilot the racial equity tool with a small group in <br /> 28 each jurisdiction to see how it works in the field. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 3. Subcommittees - The multijurisdictional subcommittees will continue working on their <br /> 31 specific sections of the Plan during the summer.
