Obtain subsurface soil data via two (2) bores, one in the berm slope for erosion control <br />protection and one in the in‐situ soil on the east side of the spillway entrance at the <br />eroded embankment. Borings will be advanced by using a mud rotary or hollow stem <br />auger technique. Standard Penetration Tests will be performed in each boring in <br />accordance with ASTM D1586‐84. See attached sub‐consultant agreement for complete <br />description of geotechnical services. <br />3. Provide a Preliminary Design Report to the County summarizing potential options for <br />repair with associated budget construction costs. <br />4. Establish a permanent vertical control monument where directed by the County. <br />5. Provide Construction Documents for the repair option selected by Orange County. <br />6. Provide project Technical Specifications. <br />7. Provide an Engineer’s Opinion of Probable Construction Costs. <br />8. Submit proposed plans to NCDEQ Dam Safety and NCDEMR Land Quality for approval. <br />Assumptions <br />1. A&O Group will be given access to the property within the project area(s), during normal <br />working hours, for the purpose of gathering field data. <br />2. Owner will provide any available plans and hydraulic data of the existing impoundment. <br />3. Engineer will provide technical specifications for construction. <br /> <br />Owner’s Responsibilities <br /> <br />1. Payment of all associated permit fees. <br />2. Assist with permit applications as needed. <br />3. Provide direction regarding project directives. <br />4. Interface with the public. <br />5. Provide timely responses to Engineer’s questions. <br />6. Timely processing of all payment applications and invoices. <br /> <br />Items Not Included <br />1. Hydraulic Analysis of the Impoundment. <br />2. Easements. <br />Design Fee <br />We propose to provide the services outlined above for a Lump Sum amount of Fifty Thousand <br />One Hundred Twenty dollars ($50,120.00), broken down as follows: <br />Preliminary Design Report and Topographic Survey $21,320.00 <br />Subsurface Exploration $4,700.00 <br />EC & Retaining Wall Construction Documents (PS&E) $24,100.00 <br />Total Design Fee: $50,120.00 <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: F08C6043-A165-4B95-9C6F-D2E8524A0B94
