Attachment 1

A Commercial Integrator for

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Company Name: Orange County Solid Waste
Project Name: Administration Building Lighting Enhancement
Project Address: 1207 Eubanks Road, Chapel Hill, North Carolina 27516
Contact: Bruce Woody, Assistant Solid Waste Director ● 919-358-0479 ● bwoody@orangecountync.gov
Project Type: Lutron Lighting Control System – Lutron Vive with RemPhos ballast/tube kits
Date: June 16, 2021

Current Lighting Situation
Your lighting is a digital lighting system called Ecosystem by Lutron. Ecosystem as a technology is very
powerful, and still supported by Lutron, but your front -end version is powered by a PDA, and is no longer
supported by Lutron. Fortunately, your PDA is still in working order. However, if it fails, you will not be able to
make changes to any of the functions of the lighting system.
This ecosystem communication requires that every ballast in your building have its own unique identifier, or
"address". When you replace a ballast, that ballast needs to be given a new address. This is the biggest issue
that you faced recently. Therefore, every new ballast will need to be programed into the system. Again, if
your PDA is no longer working you cannot fix that particular light.

Challenges moving to an LED lighting system from you current Ecosystem with this system. The current
Ecosystem is dedicated to using the old PDA technology and in its current state not able to convert to LED
lighting technology without major wiring modifications.

Proposed Scope of Work
We are proposing a two-step phased upgrade program.
Phase One: We are proposing to remove the existing Ecosystem and replace it with a Lutron Vive system.
Vive is a simple, flexible, and scalable solution for projects that demand an intelligent system to provide basic
energy savings and lighting control strategies. It would require some electrical rewiring which would be
performed by a licensed Electrical contractor; Bryant–Durham Services. Paratus Services Group would be
responsible for the payment to Bryant-Durham Services for the services they perform on this project. They
are familiar with your system and have previously completed work at this location. The Vive solution offers
the least evasive way to prepare the current systems for the goal of converting to LED lighting. Vive provides:
Energy and system monitoring
High performance dimming
Demand response load shed.
Occupancy and daylight sensors
DocuSign Envelope ID: 8CF67996-515A-45D8-B2DD-0F58229EF6A1
