In the interest of economy and symbolism of longstanding ecumenical support <br />for helping the homeless, the Commission and Partnership agreed to hold Forum 2005 at the <br />United Church of Chapel Hill at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Homestead <br />Road. The Forum will run from 8:30AM to 1:OOPM. A preliminary program is attached for your <br />review. <br />In keeping with the homelessness theme, the Human Services Advisory Commission requests <br />that the BOCC allow the registration proceeds from the Forum to be divided equally and a <br />check from the County issued after the Forum to IFG and OCIM. The registration fee is $12.50 <br />and typically 100 -125 persons attend the Forum. On that basis, there could potentially be up to <br />$1563 to be donated, or up to $781 per agency. A memorandum of understanding would be <br />signed with IFG and OCIM to ensure that these additional public dollars would be specifically <br />used to for a special project or purpose for the chronically homeless and not simply succumbed <br />within their general operating funds.
