b. Building Capacity for Public Health Preparedness and Response in Orange County Health <br />Department (9:15-9:40) <br />The Board will consider building the capacity of the Orange County Health Department to carryout its <br />responsibilities in public health preparedness and emergency response as part of the overall Orange County <br />emergency response through acceptance of funds available and establishing two public health preparedness <br />positions; and accept the additional allocation of funds from the North Carolina Division of Public Health in <br />the amount of $69,199 for public health preparedness and response; accept the $50,00 grant award from the <br />US Department of Health and Human Services Public Health Service for development of a Medical Reserve <br />Corps in orange County; authorize a perrnanent full-time public health nurse position to fulfill the duties as <br />the Public Health Preparedness Coordinator effective December 1, 2003; and authorize a permanent full- <br />time public health educator as the Volunteer Coordinator effective December 1, 2003 to fulfill the duties <br />associated with creating a Medical Reserve Corps in Orange County. <br />c. Appointments (9:40-9:50} <br />(1) Adult Care Home Commwiity Advisoi•~~ Committee (~CHCAC} <br />The Board will consider an appointment to the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee. <br />(2) Arts C:'o~nmission <br />The Board «~~ill consider an appointment to the Arts Commission. <br />(3) Orange County Board of Adjustment <br />The Board «-ill consider an appointment to the Orange County Board of Adjustment. <br />(4) Commission far the Environment <br />The Board will consider an appointment to the Commission for the Environment. <br />(5) Human Relations Commission <br />The Board will consider an appointment to the Human Relations Commission. <br />(6) Information Technology Advisory Committee <br />The Board will consider an appointment to the Information Technology Advisory Committee. <br />(7) Recreation and Parks Advisory Council <br />The Board will consider appointments to the Recreation and Parks Advisory Council. <br />10. REPORTS <br />a. Soccer Superfund -Policy and Guidelines (9:50-10:10) <br />The Board j~~ill consider a draft policy and set of guidelines for use of the Soccer Superfund; and provide <br />feedback and input to staff as desired. The document would be brought back for action at a subsequent <br />meeting. <br />11. CLOSED SESSION <br />12.
