Southern Human Services Center Smith Sinnett /2020072 <br />HVAC and Roof Renovations Orange County,North Carolina <br />HVAC Water Treatment 23 25 00 - 3 <br />B.Hot Water Heating Systems (use the more stringent between the method below and <br />manufacturer's recommended method): <br />1.Apply heat while circulating,slowly raising temperature to 160 degrees F and maintain for 12 <br />hours minimum. <br />2.Remove heat and circulate to 100 degrees F or less;drain systems as quickly as possible <br />and refill with clean water. <br />3.Circulate for 6 hours at design temperatures,then drain. <br />4.Refill with clean water and repeat until system cleaner is removed. <br />C.Use neutralizer agents on recommendation of system cleaner supplier and approval of Engineer <br />and Owner. <br />D.Remove,clean,and replace strainer screens. <br />E.Inspect,remove sludge,and flush low points with clean water after cleaning process is completed. <br /> Include disassembly of components as required. <br />F.After the precleaning is complete,test by the water treatment consultant shall confirm and a written <br />report shall certify the completeness of the precleaning by meeting the following minimum <br />requirements: <br />3.03 INSTALLATION <br />A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. <br />3.04 CLOSED SYSTEM TREATMENT <br />A.Introduce closed system treatment through bypass feeder when required or indicated by test. <br />B.Provide 3/4 inch water coupon rack around circulating pumps with space for 4 test specimens. <br />3.05 CLOSEOUT ACTIVITIES <br />A.Training: Train Owner's personnel on operation and maintenance of chemical treatment system. <br />1.Provide minimum of four hours of instruction for two people. <br />2.Have operation and maintenance data prepared and available for review during training. <br />3.Conduct training using actual equipment after treated system has been put into full operation. <br />B.Written completeness certification and applicable reports will be forwarded to the project Engineer <br />prior to acceptance. <br />3.06 MAINTENANCE <br />A.Provide service and maintenance of treatment systems for one year from Date of Substantial <br />Completion. <br />B.Provide monthly technical service visits to perform field inspections and make water analysis on- <br />site. Detail findings in writing on proper practices,chemical treating requirements,and corrective <br />actions needed.
