Southern Human Services Center Smith Sinnett /2020072 <br />HVAC and Roof Renovations Orange County,North Carolina <br />Hydronic Piping 23 21 13 - 4 <br />2.04 PIPE HANGERS AND SUPPORTS <br />A.Manufacturers: <br />1.Cooper B-Line <br />2.Anvil International <br />3.PHD <br />B.All hangers,supports,and hardware shall have hot-dip galvanized finish complying with ASTM <br />A123 or ASTM A153.Epoxy plated or coated hardware will NOT be accepted. <br />C.Comply with Federal Specification WW-H-171E &A-A-1192A. <br />D.Hangers shall be UL Listed and FM Approved. <br />E.Provide hangers and supports that comply with MSS SP-58 and MSS SP-69. <br />1.Pipe Hangers for Hot and Chilled Water 6"and smaller:Cooper B3100,Anvil Fig.260,or <br />equivalent. <br />2.Hangers for Hot Pipe 8"and larger:Adjustable steel yoke,cast iron roll,double hanger. <br />Cooper B3110,Anvil Fig.181,or equivalent. <br />3.Riser Clamps:Cooper B3373,Anvil Fig.40,or equivalent. <br />4.Beam Clamps:Cooper B3050,Anvil Fig.134,or equivalent. <br />5.Offset Clamps:Cooper B3148,Anvil Fig.103,or equivalent. <br />6.Ceiling Plate:Cooper B3199,Anvil Fig.610,or equivalent. <br />7.Wall Brackets:Cooper B3067,Anvil Fig.199,or equivalent. <br />8.Rod Ceiling Plate:Cooper,Anvil Fig.610,or equivalent. <br />9.Concrete Inserts:Cooper B2500,Anvil Fig.95 or equivalent. <br />10.Multiple or Trapeze Hangers: Steel channels with welded spacers and hanger rods. <br />11.Hanger Rods: Mild steel threaded both ends,threaded one end,or continuous threaded. <br />Cooper B3205,Anvil Fig.146,or equivalent. <br />F.In grooved installations,use rigid couplings with offsetting angle-pattern bolt pads or with wedge- <br />shaped grooves in header piping to permit support and hanging in accordance with ASME B31.9. <br />G.All hangers,rods,and other hardware shall be hot-dip galvanized,except where copper plated for <br />copper piping. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.01 PREPARATION <br />A.Ream pipe and tube ends. Remove burrs. Bevel plain end ferrous pipe. <br />B.Remove scale and dirt on inside and outside before assembly. <br />C.Prepare piping connections to equipment using jointing system specified. <br />D.Keep open ends of pipe free from scale and dirt. Protect open ends with temporary plugs or caps. <br />E.After completion,fill,clean,and treat systems. Refer to Section 23 25 00 for additional <br />requirements. <br />3.02 PRESSURE TESTS <br />A.Piping pressure tests shall be required on all new piping. <br />1.Where connecting to existing systems,segregate new piping from existing system and <br />provide isolation valves as required for testing. <br />B.Coordinate pressure tests with the Engineer and Owner at least 72 hours in advance.Engineer, <br />Owner,and CxA may choose to witness the pressure test.If Owner and Engineer decide not to <br />witness a specific test,the Construction Manager/General Contractor shall witness the test and <br />sign off. <br />C.Conduct pressure tests prior to flushing and cleaning of piping systems. <br />D.Pressure tests may be made of isolated portions of the piping systems to faciliate general progress <br />of the installation.Changes made in the piping system shall require retesting of the affected <br />portions. <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 94E7997D-4F29-42F6-A9B4-0A160438D2A6
