Southern Human Services Center Smith Sinnett /2020072 <br />HVAC and Roof Renovations Orange County,North Carolina <br />BAS DIRECT DIGITAL CONTROL SYSTEM <br /> 23 09 02 - 7 <br />d.The contractor is responsible for providing all controls described in the contract <br />documents regardless of where within the contract documents these controls are <br />described. <br />e.The contractor is responsible for the interface of control products provided by multiple <br />suppliers regardless of where this interface is described within the contract documents. <br />3.05 GENERAL WORKMANSHIP <br />A.Install equipment,piping,and wiring/raceway parallel to building lines (i.e.,horizontal,vertical,and <br />parallel to walls)wherever possible. <br />B.Provide sufficient slack and flexible connections to allow for vibration of piping and equipment. <br />C.Install all equipment in readily accessible locations as defined by Chapter 1,Article 100,Part A of <br />the National Electrical Code (NEC). <br />D.Verify integrity of all wiring to ensure continuity and freedom from shorts and grounds. <br />E.All equipment,installation,and wiring shall comply with acceptable industry specifications and <br />standards for performance,reliability,and compatibility and be executed in strict adherence to <br />local codes and standard practices. <br />3.06 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br />A.All work,materials,and equipment shall comply with the rules and regulations of applicable local, <br />state,and federal codes and ordinances as identified in Part A of this specification. <br />B.Contractor shall continually monitor the field installation for code compliance and quality of <br />workmanship. <br />C.Contractor shall have work inspected by local and/or state authorities having jurisdiction over the <br />work. <br />3.07 ELECTRICAL WIRING AND MATERIALS <br />A.Install,connect and wire the items included under this Section.This work includes providing <br />required conduit,wire,fittings,and related wiring accessories.All wiring concealed above ceilings <br />shall be plenum rated and shall be independently suspended from the structure or other supports <br />above the ceiling;it shall not be laid on the ceiling.Do not support cabling off the work of other <br />trades. <br />B.Anywhere wiring would be exposed to view,such wiring shall be installed in EMT conduit. <br />Raceway shall conform to Division 26 specifications. <br />C.All wiring to be compliant to local building code and the NEC. <br />D.Provide electrical wall box and conduit sleeve for all wall mounted devices. <br />3.08 TRAINING <br />A.The Contractor shall provide competent instructors to give full instruction to designated personnel <br />in the adjustment,operation and maintenance of the system installed. Factory employed/certified <br />instructors shall be thoroughly familiar with all aspects of the subject matter they are to teach. All <br />training shall be held during normal work hours of 8:00 a.m.to 4:30 p.m.weekdays. <br />B.Provide (2)full days (16 hours)of onsite training to instruct personnel designated by the owner. <br />C.Training shall include: <br />1.Explanation of drawings,operations and maintenance manuals <br />2.Walk-through of the job to locate control components <br />3.Operator workstation and peripherals <br />4.DDC controller and ASC operation/function <br />5.Operator control functions including graphic generation and field panel programming <br />6.Operation of portable operator's terminal <br />D.The instructor(s)shall be factory-trained instructors experienced in presenting this material. <br />END OF SECTION <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 94E7997D-4F29-42F6-A9B4-0A160438D2A6
