Southern Human Services Center Smith Sinnett /2020072 <br />HVAC and Roof Renovations Orange County,North Carolina <br />HVAC GENERAL PROVISIONS 23 01 00 <br />- 4 <br />disconnect switches,junction boxes,or panelboard circuit breakers as provided by the Electrical <br />Contractor. <br />C.Electrical work shall be in accordance with all local,state and national codes and as specified in <br />Division 26. <br />D.Where architectural features and elements govern location of work,refer to Architectural drawings <br />prior to fabrication of materials or system components. <br />E.Refer to the Structural Drawings to become familiar with structural member sizes,framing type and <br />configuration,opening sizes,and other details that could impact the work.Failure to coordinate <br />with the Work of other trades,resulting in relocation of installed work to coordinate with <br />architectural and/or structural elements,shall NOT be allowed as a basis for extra compensation <br />by the contractor. <br />F.Where piping,ductwork,or other items are indiacted to be routed in the webbing of joists or <br />trusses,the mechanical contractor shall confirm with the General Contractor/Construction <br />Manager and steel supplier the final joist/truss profile prior to fabricating or order materials.The <br />actual final joist/truss profile shall be used in the BIM coordination effort. <br />G.Openings for insulated piping shall be based on the outside diameter of the insulation with <br />continuous insulation through the opening. <br />H.Seal non-fire rated floor penetrations with non-shrink grout or urethane caulk,as appropriate. <br />I.Seal non-rated wall openeings with urethane caulk. <br />J.Duct/pipe/conduit penetrations through floor slabs of mechanical platforms or slabs above the <br />bottom floor shall have water stopped curb surrounding the pipe/duct/conduit opening.Coordinate <br />with Construction Manager/General Contractor to confirm openings based on Coordination <br />Drawings. <br />K.Pipe,conduit and duct chases required for installation of work shall be provided by the General <br />Contractor unless otherwise noted. This Contractor shall be responsible for coordinating the <br />location of all required chases. <br />L.All work shall be coordinated with other trades. Cutting of new work and subsequent patching <br />shall be at the Contractor's expense at no extra cost to the Owner. <br />1.08 GUARANTEE <br />A.See the General and Supplementary General Conditions <br />B.Where extended warranties or guarantees are available from the manufacturer,the Contractor <br />shall prepare the necessary contract documents to validate these warranties as required by the <br />manufacturer and present them to the Architect/Engineer. <br />C.The Contractor shall include in his bid a full warranty and guarantee for a five (5)year period on <br />the compressors for the refrigeration equipment,including all chillers. This warranty does not <br />include labor following the first year's Labor and Material Warranty. <br />PART 2 PRODUCT <br />2.01 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br />A.Materials and equipment shall be new,unless noted otherwise,of the highest grade and quality <br />and free from defects or other imperfections. Materials and equipment found defective shall be <br />removed and replaced at the contractor's expense. <br />B.The contractor shall provide name plates for identification of all equipment,switches,panels,etc. <br />C.The name plates shall be laminated phenolic plastic,black front and back with white core,white <br />engraved letters (1/4"minimum)etched into the white core.
