SHSC HVAC and Roof Replacement Smith Sinnett / 2020072 <br />Orange County, North Carolina <br /> <br />SHEET METAL FLASHING AND TRIM 07 62 00 - 2 <br />1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Installer Qualifications: Engage an experience Installer who has completed sheet metal flashing and <br />trim work similar in material, design, and extent to that indicated for this Project and with a record of <br />successful in-service performance. <br />B. Mockups: Prior to installing sheet metal flashing and trim, construct mockups indicated to verify <br />selections made under Sample submittals and to demonstrate aesthetic effects as well as qualities of <br />materials and execution. Build mockups to comply with the following requirements, using materials <br />indicated for final unit of Work. <br />1. Locate mockups on-site in the location and of the size indicated or, if not indicated, as directed by <br />Architect. <br />2. Notify Architect one week in advance of the dates and times when mockups will be constructed. <br />3. Demonstrate the proposed range of aesthetic effects and workmanship. <br />4. Construct mockups for the following type of sheet metal flashing and trim: <br />a. Parapet Cap Assembly. <br />b. Exposed trim. <br />5. Obtain Architect's approval of mockups before start of final unit of Work. <br />6. Retain and maintain mockups during construction in an undisturbed condition as a standard for <br />judging the completed Work. <br />a. Approved mockups in an undisturbed condition at the time of Final Acceptance may <br />become part of the completed Work. <br /> <br />1.6 PROJECT CONDITIONS <br />A. Coordinate Work of this Section with interfacing and adjoining Work for proper sequencing of each <br />installation. Ensure best possible weather resistance, durability of Work, and protection of materials and <br />finishes. <br />B. Interior and exterior corners of all parapet caps and roof edge flashing assemblies shall be mitered, <br />welded and ground smooth. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.1 METALS <br />A. Aluminum: Alloy and temper recommended by aluminum producer and finisher for type of use and <br />finish indicated and with not less than the strength and durability of alloy and temper designated below <br />unless otherwise indicated. <br />B. Factory-painted Aluminum Sheet: ASTM B 209, 3003-H14, with a minimum thickness of .040" unless <br />indicated otherwise. <br />1. All metal roofing components, including roof panels, ridge caps, gutters, downspouts, fascias, <br />scuppers, gravel stop, flashings and parapet copings shall be able to be provided in the same color <br />at the Architects discretion. <br />C. Metallic-Coated Steel Sheet: Restricted flatness steel sheet, metallic coated by the hot-dip process and <br />prepainted by the coil-coating process to comply with ASTM A 755/A 755M. <br />1. Aluminum-Zinc Alloy-Coated Steel Sheet: ASTM A 792/A 792M, Class AZ50 coating <br />designation, Grade 40; structural quality. <br />2.
