Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and <br />Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. <br />1.2 SUMMARY <br />A. Section Includes: <br />1. Metal soffit panels. <br /> <br />B. Related Sections: <br />1. Division 05 Section "Steel Decking" for steel roof deck supporting metal roof panels. <br />2. Division 05 Section "Structural Steel" for supporting metal roof panels. <br />3. Division 05 Section "Cold-Formed Metal Framing" for cold-formed metal framing supporting <br />metal roof panels. <br />4. Division 05 Section "Rough Carpentry" for wood framing and blocking supporting metal soffit <br />panels. <br />5. Division 07 Section "Sheet Metal Flashing and Trim" for and other sheet metal work not part of <br />metal soffit panel assemblies. <br />6. Division 07 Section "Joint Sealants" for field-applied sealants not otherwise specified in this <br />Section. <br />1.3 DEFINITIONS <br />A. Preformed Soffit: Preformed soffit is hereby defined to include panels which are structurally capable of <br />spanning between supports spaced as indicated. <br />B. Flush Wall Panel Assembly: Metal panels, attachment system components, miscellaneous metal framing, <br />thermal insulation, and accessories necessary for a complete weathertight wall panel and roofing system. <br />1.4 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS <br />A. General Performance: Metal soffit panels shall comply with performance requirements without failure <br />due to defective manufacture, fabrication, installation, or other defects in construction. <br />B. Delegated Design: Design metal soffit and wall panel assembly, including comprehensive engineering <br />analysis by a qualified professional engineer, registered in the State of North Carolina, using performance <br />requirements and design criteria indicated. <br />C. Wind-Uplift Resistance: Provide metal soffit panel and metal wall panel assemblies that comply with <br />UL 580 for wind-uplift-resistance class indicated. <br />1. Uplift Rating: UL 120 or as required based on manufacturer’s engineering due to specified wind <br />speed.. <br />2. Wind Loads for roof, fascia, soffit and wall panels: Determine loads based on the following <br />minimum design wind pressures: <br />3.
