Extruded-Polystyrene Board Insulation with Increased R-Value: ASTM C 578, Type IV, but with an <br />aged thermal resistance (R-value) per 2-inch thickness of 5.6 deg F x h x sq. ft./Btu at 75 deg F at 5 years; <br />closed-cell product with a carbon-black filler and extruded with an integral skin. <br />B. Adhesive: Type recommended by insulation board manufacturer for application indicated. <br />2.4 ROOF INSULATION <br />A. General: Provide preformed roof insulation boards that comply with requirements and referenced <br />standards, selected from manufacturer's standard sizes and of thicknesses indicated. <br />B. Polyisocyanurate Board Insulation: ASTM C 1289, Type II, felt glass-fiber mat facer on both major <br />surfaces. <br />1. Manufacturers: <br />a. Atlas Roofing Corporation. <br />b. Tapered Insulation: Provide factory-tapered insulation boards fabricated to minimum slope of 1/4 inch <br />per 12 inches, and other slopes indicated. <br />D. Provide 5/8” Type X on the existing metal decking and install with fasteners per the wind load <br />requirements. Refer to the drawings for the extents of the existing metal roof deck system. <br />E. Provide preformed saddles, crickets, tapered edge strips, and other insulation shapes where indicated for <br />sloping to drain. Fabricate to slopes indicated. <br />F. Minimum 1.55 pcf density <br />G. Roof Insulation Accessories <br />1. General: Roof insulation accessories recommended by insulation manufacturer for intended use <br />and compatible with membrane roofing. <br />2. Fasteners: Factory-coated steel fasteners and metal or plastic plates meeting corrosion-resistance <br />provisions, designed for fastening roof insulation to substrate, and acceptable to roofing system <br />manufacturer and designed to meet all uplift loading conditions. At a minimum, provide (24) <br />fasteners per 4’x8’ dimension for the entire roof and (32) fasteners per 4’x8’ dimension 4’-0” from <br />the perimeter of the roof. <br />3. Cold Fluid-Applied Adhesive: Manufacturer's standard cold fluid-applied adhesive formulated to <br />adhere roof insulation to substrate. <br /> <br />2.5 INSULATION ADHESIVE: Anchor in paragraph below is an example of a mechanical fastener. Prong <br />anchors, welding pins, pointed rods, etc., are also available; insert here as required. <br />A. Low Rise Foam Adhesive at Existing Concrete Decking and at 5/8” Type X Gypsum Board with low ride <br />foam adhesive on existing Metal Decking. <br />1. Products: <br />a.
