Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary General <br />Conditions and Division 1 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. <br />1.2 SUMMARY <br />A. This Section includes the following: <br />1. Exterior non-load bearing steel-stud framing where exterior metal soffit and framing is required. <br />1.3 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS <br />A. AISI "Specifications": Calculate structural characteristics of cold-formed metal framing according to <br />AISI's "Load and Resistance Factor Design Specification for Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members" <br />and the following: <br />B. Center for Cold-Formed Steel Structures (CCFSS) Technical Bulletin, Vol. 2, No. 1, February 1993 <br />"AISI Specification Provisions for Screw Connections." <br />C. Structural Performance: Engineer, fabricate and erect cold-formed metal framing with the following <br />minimum physical and structural properties: <br />D. Physical and Structural Properties: As indicated. <br />1.4 SUBMITTALS <br />A. General: Submit each item in this Article according to the Conditions of the Contract and Division 1 <br />Specification Sections. <br />B. Product data for each type of cold-formed metal framing, accessory, and product specified. <br />C. Shop drawings showing layout, spacings, sizes, thicknesses, and types of cold-formed metal framing, <br />fabrication, fastening and anchorage details, including mechanical fasteners. Show reinforcing channels, <br />opening framing, supplemental framing, strapping, bracing, bridging, splices, accessories, connection <br />details, and attachments to other units of Work. Include calculations. All shop drawings and calculations <br />shall be designed and sealed by a professional engineer licensed in North Carolina. <br />D. Mill certificates signed by manufacturers of cold-formed metal framing certifying that their products <br />comply with requirements, including uncoated steel thickness, yield strength, tensile strength, total <br />elongation, and galvanized-coating thickness. <br />E. Welder certificates signed by Contractor certifying that welders comply with requirements specified <br />under the "Quality Assurance" Article. <br />F. Qualification data for firms and persons specified in the "Quality Assurance" Article to demonstrate their <br />capabilities and experience.
