SHSC HVAC and Roof Replacement Smith Sinnett / 2020072 <br />Orange County, North Carolina <br /> <br />TEMPORARY FACILITIES AND CONTROLS 01 50 00 - 4 <br />3.3 SUPPORT FACILITIES INSTALLATION <br />A. General: Comply with the following: <br />1. Provide incombustible construction for offices, shops, and sheds located within construction area <br />or within 30 feet of building lines. Comply with NFPA 241. <br />2. Locate, and relocate if necessary, construction support facilities to limit site disturbance as <br />indicated in Section 01 10 00 Summary. <br />3. Maintain support facilities until near Substantial Completion. Remove before Substantial <br />Completion. Personnel remaining after Substantial Completion will be permitted to use <br />permanent facilities, under conditions acceptable to Owner. <br />B. Parking: Use designated areas of Owner's existing parking areas for construction personnel. <br />C. Dewatering Facilities and Drains: Comply with requirements of authorities having jurisdiction. Maintain <br />Project site, excavations, and construction free of water. <br />1. Dispose of rainwater in a lawful manner that will not result in flooding Project or adjoining <br />properties nor endanger permanent Work or temporary facilities. <br />2. Remove snow and ice as required to minimize accumulations. <br />D. Project Identification and Temporary Signs: Provide Project identification and other signs. Install signs <br />where indicated to inform public and individuals seeking entrance to Project. Unauthorized signs are not <br />permitted. <br />1. Provide temporary, directional signs for construction personnel and visitors. <br />2. Maintain and touchup signs so they are legible at all times. <br />E. Waste Disposal Facilities: Provide waste-collection containers in sizes adequate to handle waste from <br />construction operations. Comply with requirements of authorities having jurisdiction. Comply with <br />Division 01 Section "Execution" for progress cleaning requirements and Division 01 construction waste <br />management and disposal. <br />F. Burning of any materials including but not limited to construction debris on site is prohibited. <br />3.4 CURITY AND PROTECTION FACILITIES INSTALLATION <br />A. Environmental Protection: Provide protection, operate temporary facilities, and conduct construction in <br />ways and by methods that comply with environmental regulations and that minimize possible air, <br />waterway, and subsoil contamination or pollution or other undesirable effects. <br />1. Comply with work restrictions specified in Division 01 Section "Summary." <br />B. Temporary Erosion and Sedimentation Control: Comply with requirements specified in Division 31 <br />Section "Site Clearing." <br />C. Temporary Erosion and Sedimentation Control: Provide measures to prevent soil erosion and discharge <br />of soil-bearing water runoff and airborne dust to adjacent properties and walkways, according to <br />requirements of authorities having jurisdiction. <br />1. Inspect, repair, and maintain erosion- and sedimentation-control measures during construction <br />until permanent vegetation has been established. <br />D. Stormwater Control: Comply with authorities having jurisdiction. Provide barriers in and around <br />excavations and subgrade construction to prevent flooding by runoff of stormwater from heavy rains. <br />E.
