Article 6: Development Standards 74 <br /> Section 6.14: Stormwater Management <br /> (12) Water from crawl space pumps, <br /> (13) Footing drains, <br /> (14) Lawn watering, <br /> (15) Non-commercial car washing, <br /> (16) Flows from riparian habitats and wetlands, <br /> (17) NPDES permitted discharges, <br /> (18) Street wash water, <br /> (19) PiFe f*gh#RgFirefighting emergency activities, <br /> (20) Wash water from the cleaning of buildings, <br /> (21) Dechlorinated backwash and draining associated with swimming pools, <br /> (22) Flows from firefighting, <br /> (23) Discharges specified in writing by the County as being necessary to public health <br /> and safety, <br /> (24) Dye testing is an allowable discharge, but requires verbal notification to the <br /> Erosion Control Officer prior to the time of the test, and <br /> (25) Any non-stormwater discharge permitted under an NPDES permit, waiver, or <br /> waste discharge order issued to the discharger and administered under the <br /> authority of the Federal Environmental Protection Agency, provided that the <br /> discharger is in full compliance with all requirements of the permit, waiver, or <br /> waste discharge order and other applicable laws and regulations, and provided <br /> that written approval has been granted for any discharge to the stormwater <br /> collection system. <br /> (D) Prohibited Discharges <br /> (1) It is a violation of this Ordinance for any person to discharge any substance into <br /> the stormwater collection system or receiving waters which by its nature, may: <br /> (a) Become a public health hazard endangering human or animal health. <br /> (b) Interfere with the free and rapid flow of surface water, <br /> (c) Be flammable or explosive, <br /> (d) Be toxic to human, animal or plant life, <br /> (e) Be corrosive or damaging to the stormwater collection system, or <br /> (f) Affect adversely the State of North Carolina classification of the stream <br /> into which the discharge flows. <br /> (2) Non-allowable discharges include, but are not limited to, the following: <br /> (a) Dumping of oil, anti-freeze, chemicals, garbage, paint or cleaning fluids, <br /> (b) Untreated animal waste, <br /> (c) Commercial car washes, <br /> (d) Industrial discharges, <br /> (e) Contaminated foundation drains, <br /> (f) Cooling water unless no chemicals are added, and a NPDES permit is in <br /> place, <br /> (g) Washwaters from commercial and industrial activities, <br /> (h) Sanitary sewer discharges, <br /> Orange County, North Carolina—Unified Development Ordinance Page 6-111 <br />
