Article 10: Definitions 124 <br /> Section 10.1: Definitions <br /> An outdoor fixture shielded or constructed in such a manner that it emits no more than 5% of its light <br /> above the horizontal plane of the fixture, and no more than 20% of its light ten degrees below the <br /> horizontal plane of the fixture. <br /> Outdoor Lighting — Sodium Vapor Luminaries <br /> Lamps within which ultraviolet and yellowish-orange visible light is produced by an electric charge through <br /> a small amount of sodium and neon gas. <br /> Outdoor Lighting, Tube Lighting <br /> Gas-filled glass tube, excluding common fluorescent tube bulbs, that becomes luminescent in a color <br /> characteristic of the particular gas used, such as neon, argon, krypton, etc. <br /> Outdoor Lighting, Upward <br /> Projection of light above the horizontal plane. <br /> Overlay Zoning District; Overlay Zone <br /> A special zoning district that applies supplemental standards in addition to the underlying zoning <br /> requirements. <br /> Package Treatment Plant <br /> Privately owned and operated sewage treatment facility. These plants are prefabricated by the <br /> manufacturer and delivered as completed units to the clients. <br /> Paperboard Containers and Box Manufacturing, Assembly, and Processing <br /> A land use engaged in converting previously manufactured paperboard into containers. Does not include <br /> the actual manufacturing of the paperboard product. Please refer to Pulp, Paper, and Paperboard Mills as <br /> defined herein. <br /> Parking Deck <br /> A special structure of two or more levels designed to be used for the temporary storage of motor vehicles. <br /> Pedestrian/Landscape Ratio <br /> This is the minimum square footage of pedestrian access and landscaped areas in a non-residential <br /> development for each square foot of gross land area. <br /> Pedestrian/Landscaped Space <br /> Pedestrian/landscaped space is part of total open space appropriately improved and located as outdoor <br /> space for pedestrian use and for aesthetic appeal. Such space includes lawns and other landscaped <br /> areas, walkways, paved terraces and sitting areas. Such space shall not be used for vehicles except for <br /> incidental service, maintenance or emergency actions. <br /> Performance Guarantee289 <br /> A financial, contractual, obligation ensuring completion of approved development activities consistent with <br /> the provisions of County. State, and Federal law. <br /> Personal Services <br /> An establishment engaged in providing services generally involving the care of the person (e.g. <br /> hairdresser, tailor, laundry, etc.). <br /> Petroleum and Coal Product Processing, Preparation, and Distribution <br /> A land use engaged in the transformation of crude petroleum and coal into usable products, including the <br /> separation of crude petroleum into component products through such techniques as cracking and <br /> distillation. Allowable activities include manufacturing of asphalt for paving or roofing, manufacturing of <br /> asphalt shingles and coating.
