Article 10: Definitions 120 <br /> Section 10.1: Definitions <br /> and subordinate to the principal residential use of the property. Major home occupations, which do not <br /> meet the standards of a minor home occupation, shall accommodate for larger scale accessory business <br /> uses by allowing for an increase in square footage, number of onsite employees, students, customers, <br /> clients, and annual events with an approved Special Use Permit. <br /> Home Occupation, Minor <br /> An accessory business use, which is owned or operated by the resident of residentially-zoned property, <br /> and is clearly incidental and subordinate to the principal residential use of the property. <br /> Home Park <br /> A parcel of land under single ownership which has been planned and improved in compliance with <br /> Sections 3.8 and 5.5.4 for the placement of mobile homes/manufactured homes and Temporary <br /> Residential Units for use during the duration of the lease. The term includes mobile home parks <br /> developed under previous permitting requirements. <br /> Home Park Space <br /> A parcel of land occupied or intended to be occupied by one and only one Mobile Home or Temporary <br /> Residential Unit and for the exclusive use of the occupants of said dwellings. <br /> Immediate Neighborhood <br /> A subdivision or area of the county which distinguishes it from other subdivisions or areas by virtue of its <br /> location within the service area of a park site or sites as shown on the adopted "Recreation Service Area <br /> Boundaries Map" on file in the Planning Department. <br /> Impervious Surface <br /> A surface composed of any material that impedes or prevents the natural infiltration of water into the soil. <br /> Such surfaces include concrete, asphalt and gravel surfaces. These include, but are not be limited to, <br /> streets and parking areas, sidewalks, patios, and structures that cover the land. <br /> Infiltration <br /> The absorption of stormwater r-un-offrunoff283 into the ground. Infiltration allows for pollutants to be filtered <br /> from the water prior to its reaching the groundwater table, preventing the deposit of the pollutants directly <br /> into drinking water supplies. <br /> Infiltration Systems284 <br /> Stormwater Control Measures (SCMs) designed to allow stormwater runoff to move into the soil's pore <br /> space and subsurface. (See also, Stormwater Control Measure and Engineered Stormwater Controls). <br /> Institutional Use <br /> A nonprofit, religious, or public use, such as a church, library, public or private school, hospital, university, <br /> or government owned or operated building, structure, or land used for public purpose. <br /> Interested Party <br /> For purposes of quasi-judicial evidentiary hearings an interested party is one who has standing as that <br /> term is defined by applicable North Carolina statutory and case law. <br /> Junk Yard <br /> An establishment operated or maintained for the purpose of storing, dismantling, salvaging, recycling, <br /> buying or selling scrap or used materials such as paper, metals, rubber, rags, glass, wrecked, used or <br /> dismantled products and articles, such as machinery, vehicles, appliances and the like. <br /> 211.Consistent use of"stormwater runoff'. <br /> 2114 NEW DEFINITION -this definition generally conforms to 15A NCAC 02H.1002(Definitions). <br /> Orange County, North Carolina—Unified Development Ordinance Page 10-20 <br />
