<br />3.03 Unit Cost Items
<br />A. MOBILIZATION AND BONDS - This work shall consist of furnishing all necessary insurance,
<br />coinsurance, reinsurance, payment/performance bonds, local permits (including payment of
<br />permit fees), mobilization of equipment, forces, and personnel for the project. Work shall
<br />also consist of furnishing all necessary demobilization of equipment, forces, and personnel
<br />for the project. This line item shall be a maximum of 3% of the base bid price. Payment for
<br />this line item will be made under a one-time charge and will constitute full compensation for
<br />all labor, equipment, tools, and other items necessary and incidental to the completion of
<br />this work. Work under this line item will include coordination with and assisting the Engineer
<br />with execution and implementation of the CQA plan included in the project documents.
<br />B. SURVEYING AND CONSTRUCTION STAKEOUT - This Work shall consist of furnishing all labor,
<br />material, equipment, tools and other items necessary and incidental to perform surveying
<br />and construction stakeout as dictated by the Contract, including quantity verification, project
<br />record documents, and stakeout. Work shall include installing and protecting any necessary
<br />benchmarks. Payment for this line item will be made under a one-time charge and will
<br />constitute full compensation for all labor, equipment, tools, and other items necessary and
<br />incidental to the completion of this work. Final deliverable shall be an asbuilt topographic
<br />survey of the landfill cell signed and sealed by a Professional Land Surveyor registered in NC
<br />and also include a digital file in .dwg format.
<br />C. SEDIMENT AND EROSION CONTROL - This Work shall consist of furnishing all labor, material,
<br />equipment, tools and other items necessary and incidental to install and implement the
<br />Erosion and Sediment Control plan included in the Contract and Technical Specifications. This
<br />item includes maintaining the Erosion and Sediment Controls throughout the project until
<br />the site has been released by the Engineer and NCDEQ. Payment for this line item will be
<br />made under a one-time charge and will constitute full compensation for all labor, equipment,
<br />tools, and other items necessary and incidental to the completion of this work.
<br />D. CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE – This work shall consist of furnishing all labor, material,
<br />equipment, tools and other items necessary and incidental to installing, maintain, and
<br />remove the temporary construction access into the Phase 2 cell area. Payment for this line
<br />item will be made upon a unit rate basis, established by field measurements of access
<br />centerline, following final installation.
<br />E. ABANDON PIEZOMETER - This work shall consist of furnishing all labor, material, equipment,
<br />tools, other items necessary, and incidental to abandoning the existing piezometer shown
<br />on drawing C4.0. Piezometer shall be abandoned by a licensed well contractor, with
<br />documentation of proper well abandonment provided to the Engineer. Payment for this line
<br />item will be made upon a lump sum basis, established in the bid form, following Engineer
<br />confirmation of abandonment and receipt of the abandonment report from the licensed well
<br />contractor.
<br />F. EXCAVATE TO BASE GRADES – This work shall consist of furnishing all labor, material,
<br />equipment, tools and other items necessary and incidental to excavating material from the
<br />Phase 2 cell area for the purpose of establishing base grades. Excess soil shall be stockpiled
<br />at the identified soil stockpile locations as shown on the drawings, unless otherwise directed
