Orange County Eubanks Road C&D Landfill <br />Permit Technical Specifications <br />Revised March 15, 2021 <br />Section 13302 - 6 <br /> <br /> <br />finish grades. Moisten prepared areas before planting if soil is dry. Water <br />thoroughly and allow surface moisture to dry before planting seed. Do not create a <br />muddy soil condition. <br /> <br />G. Fertilizer <br /> <br />Apply fertilizer at a uniform rate as determined by soil testing. Incorporate <br />fertilizer and lime into the soil to a depth of at least four (4) inches; this may be <br />done as part of the subgrade tillage operation. <br /> <br />H. Installation <br /> <br />Seed immediately after preparation of bed. Seed areas disturbed as a result of <br />construction activities. Mix seed on-site or in the presence of the QAO. Sow seed <br />with approved sowing equipment. Cover seed by means of harrow, cultipacker, or <br />other approved device. Perform seeding operations when the soil is dry and when <br />winds do not exceed 5 miles per hour velocity. <br /> <br />I. Rolling <br /> <br />Immediately after seeding, firm entire area with a roller. <br /> <br />J. Mulch <br /> <br />Immediately mulch newly seeded areas. Chopped straw shall be evenly applied so <br />as to provide a loose depth of not more than one half (1/2) inch with 75% coverage. <br /> <br />K. Tack Coat <br /> <br />1. Immediately following mulching, straw shall be secured in place by an EPA <br />registered tackafier at a uniform applied rate as specified on the label. <br /> <br />2. In lieu of tackafier, crimp straw into soil by mechanical means or cover with <br />an approved erosion control blanket. <br /> <br />L. Precautions <br /> <br />Protect existing utilities, structures, pavements, or plantings from damage caused <br />by seeding operations. CONTRACTOR will be held responsible for any/all <br />damages. Extreme caution must be given when tilling, liming, and fertilizing in the <br />dripline of existing trees.
