No seeding shall occur between November 16th and February 1st <br />unless so approved by the COUNTY. <br /> <br />B. The area to be seeded shall be prepared by removing large ruts or surface depressions <br />and by breaking up the surface of the soil. The soil shall be tested and lime, fertilizer, <br />and, if necessary, inoculate bacteria shall be incorporated into the top soil. <br /> <br />C. Areas which fail to establish adequate vegetative cover will be re-seeded as soon as <br />such areas are identified. <br /> <br />3.04. Application of Materials <br /> <br />A. In general, materials shall be applied by hand or equipment. If hydroseeding is used, <br />mixing shall be done at the job site and care shall be exercised to avoid damaging the <br />seeds during mixing or application. <br /> <br />B. Notify QAO at least seven working days prior to start of seeding operations. <br /> <br />C. Preparation <br /> <br />1. After areas required to be seeded have been brought to the required grade, <br />thoroughly till to a minimum depth of 2 inches by scarifying, disking, <br />harrowing, or other approved method. Remove debris and stone larger than <br />one inch remaining on the surface after tilling. Tilling will be necessary <br />prior to seeding as well as when the summer or winter species must be <br />eradicated. <br /> <br />2. Limit preparation to areas which will be immediately seeded. <br /> <br />D. Topsoil/Organically Amended Soil <br /> <br />Areas shall have topsoil (or an approved organically amended soil) uniformly <br />distributed and evenly spread to a thickness of not less than six (6) inches. <br /> <br />E. Lime <br /> <br />Apply the rate and amount of lime necessary to maintain the areas at a pH level of <br />6 to 6.8. Soil analysis report of existing conditions and pH level will designate the <br />amount of lime necessary to bring the soil to the acceptable levels. <br />F.
