SECTION 014500 - QUALITY CONTROL <br />Orange County DAA PN: R00592-226N <br />C&D Landfill Phase 2 Construction April 2021 <br /> 014500 - 2/2 <br />1.6 MANUFACTURER’S FIELD SERVICES AND REPORTS <br />A. When specified in respective Specification Sections, require supplier, manufacturer, or <br />installer, to provide qualified personnel to observe field conditions, conditions of <br />surfaces and installation; quality of workmanship; start-up of equipment; test, adjust, <br />and balance of equipment as applicable; and to make appropriate recommendations. <br />B. Manufacturer's representative shall submit a written report to Engineer listing <br />observations, site decisions, and instructions that are supplemental or contrary to <br />manufacturer's written instructions. The manufacturer's representative shall certify <br />that the materials and/or equipment has been properly installed and is functioning <br />correctly. <br />1.7 TESTING <br />A. Provide all testing specified in individual Specification Sections. All testing services shall <br />be arranged for and paid by the Contractor unless otherwise indicated in the Contract <br />Documents. <br />1.8 INSPECTION AND TESTING LABORATORY SERVICES FOR CONCRETE AND SOILS <br />A. Where reference is made in the Specifications to tests, inspections, independent <br />designs, etc., such services shall be furnished by a fully qualified independent testing <br />laboratory or firm of inspection engineers. All costs for providing such services shall be <br />paid for by the Contractor unless otherwise indicated in the Contract Documents. <br />B. All arrangements for the testing work shall be made by the Contractor. Whenever <br />inclement weather does not provide suitable testing conditions, the Contractor shall be <br />responsible for cancellation notice to the testing agency. Any costs incurred because of <br />failure to provide adequate cancellation notice shall be borne by the Contractor. Owner <br />shall be notified of arrangements made for testing work. <br />C. If a test fails to meet specification requirements, then the area represented by that test <br />shall be reworked and retested at the Contractor’s expense. Any additional testing <br />required to verify previously failing tests shall be at the Contractor’s expense. All <br />corrective measures shall be documented in the Quality Control reports. <br />D.
