Print Applicant for Orange County Boards and Commissions Page 2 0
To ~ y /~• yvh; ~k~r
Remarks: Renewed application 7/15/03 for Board of Adjustment. Renewed
application 9/24/02 for Orange County Board of Adjustment. Work Address is 3708
Lycan Pkwy. Ste. 201 Durham 27707. WORK EXPERIENCE: 19 years local
experience in the civil engineering field, including 17 years in private consulting
practice for land development projects. Currently own and operate a small
consulting engineering firm, located in Durham. Very familiar with land
development issues, local politics, local development ordinances, etc. VOLUNTEER
EXPERIENCE: Previously served 5 years on the Orange County BOA, several as
chair. Enjoyed the experience immensely, and only stepped aside to give someone
else a turn. Would like to serve again. Have also served on homeowner association
boards for two neighborhoods that I have lived in. EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science -Civil Engineering from N.C. State University in 1985.
OTHER COMMENTS: Even though I don't have formal legal training, I am aware
of and have a good understanding of the legal aspects of BOA activities. During my
previous work with the board, I always tried to act in a logical, (balanced, and
consistent manner in order to be fair to applicants and citizens, but also to minimize
potential for legal challenges that would consume County resources and expose the
County to unnecessary liabilities.
This application was current on: 07/15/2003
http://serverl.co.orange.nc.us/boards/PrintIndiv.asp?AppID=508 09/26/2003
