Construction Documents <br />20052.02 / Orange County - Justice <br />Facility <br />26 5100 - 8 INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR <br />LIGHTING <br />S.Install lamps in each luminaire. <br />T.Lamp Burn-In: Operate lamps at full output for prescribed period per manufacturer's <br />recommendations prior to use with any dimming controls. Replace lamps that fail prematurely <br />due to improper lamp burn-in. <br />3.04 WARRANTY <br />A.Exit signs: Provide a minimum five year warranty. The battery shall have an additional 2 year <br />pro rated warranty. Warranty period begins from the date of project acceptance. <br />B.Emergency Luminaires: Provide a minimum of 5 year warranty for emergency luminaires. <br />Batteries shall be warranted for 3 years with an additional 3 year pro-rated warranty. Warranty <br />period begins from the date of project acceptance. <br />C.Emergency Power supplies and inverters shall have a minimum of 10 year prorated warranty. <br />3.05 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br />A.Inspect each product for damage and defects. <br />B.Operate each luminaire after installation and connection to verify proper operation. <br />C.Test self-powered exit signs, emergency lighting units, and fluorescent emergency power supply <br />units to verify proper operation upon loss of normal power supply. Test shall be conducted for <br />90 minutes in accordance with NEC 700. Test shall be conducted a maximum of 10 days prior <br />to final inspection and light level readings recorded at the beginning and end of the test shall be <br />submitted to the engineer for review. <br />D.Correct wiring deficiencies and repair or replace damaged or defective products. Repair or <br />replace excessively noisy ballasts as determined by Architect. <br />3.06 ADJUSTING <br />A.Aim and position adjustable luminaires to achieve desired illumination as indicated or as <br />directed by Architect. Secure locking fittings in place. <br />B.Aim and position adjustable emergency lighting unit lamps to achieve optimum illumination of <br />egress path as required or as directed by Architect or authority having jurisdiction. <br />C.Exit Signs with Field-Selectable Directional Arrows: Set as indicated or as required to properly <br />designate egress path as directed by Architect or authority having jurisdiction. <br />3.07 CLEANING <br />A.Clean surfaces according to manufacturer's instructions to remove dirt, fingerprints, paint, or <br />other foreign material and restore finishes to match original factory finish. <br />3.08 CLOSEOUT ACTIVITIES <br />A.Demonstration: Demonstrate proper operation of luminaires to Architect, and correct <br />deficiencies or make adjustments as directed. <br />B.After the designer final inspection prior to SCO final inspection and final acceptance replace all <br />lamps that have failed and clean all lenses. <br />3.09 PROTECTION <br />A.Protect installed luminaires from subsequent construction operations. <br />END OF SECTION 26 5100 <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 09980A3B-0691-41B4-854D-3865F2287392
