Accessibility Standard: Comply with applicable provisions in the USDOJ's "2010 ADA Standards for <br />Accessible Design" and ICC A117.1. <br />B. Regulatory Requirements: Comply with ASME A18.1, "Safety Standard for Platform Lifts and Stairway <br />Chairlifts." <br />2.2 VERTICAL PLATFORM LIFT <br />A. Vertical Platform Lift, General: Preengineered lift system. <br />1. Basis of Design: Hercules II 750 Commercial Wheelchair Lift by Assisted Lifting or comparable <br />product by one of the following: <br />a. Garaventa Lift. <br />b. Liftavator, Inc. <br />B. Platform Size: As indicated on drawings. <br />C. Door Operation and Clear Opening Width: Low-energy, power-operated doors that remain open for 20 <br />seconds minimum; door with minimum 32-inch clear opening width. <br />D. Rated Speed: No less than 17 fpm <br />E. Power Supply: Electric <br />1. Electrical Characteristics: Match Existing as indicated on Electrical <br />F. Self-Supporting Unit: Support vertical loads of unit only at base, with lateral support only at landing <br />levels. <br />G. Platform: Steel sheet or galvanized-steel sheet with manufacturer's standard black rubber flooring <br />H. Platform Enclosure and Door: Rectangular, hot-dip-galvanized, steel-tube frame with flush galvanized- <br />steel-sheet panels. <br />I. Ramp: Fixed ramp matching platform to provide transition from floor to lift platform at bottom landing <br />1. Ramp Size: End ramps a minimum of 32 inches wide; length as required for slope. <br />2. Ramp Slope: Maximum 1:12. <br />3. Ramp Finish: Finish ramps to match lift platform. <br />2.3 MATERIALS <br />A. Steel Plates, Shapes, and Bars: ASTM A36/A36M. <br />B. Steel Tubing: ASTM A500/A500M. <br />C. Steel Pipe: ASTM A53/A53M; standard weight (Schedule 40) unless otherwise indicated or required by <br />loads. <br />D.
