Orange County Facility Renovations <br />Hillsborough, NC <br />Smith Sinnett QUALITY REQUIREMENTS <br />2020046/2020047/2020048/2020049/2020055 01 40 00 - 5 <br />1.Contractor responsibilities include the following: <br />a.Provide test specimens representative of proposed products and construction. <br />b.Submit specimens in a timely manner with sufficient time for testing and analyzing results <br />to prevent delaying the Work. <br />c.Build laboratory mockups at testing facility using personnel, products, and methods of <br />construction indicated for the completed Work. <br />d.When testing is complete, remove test specimens and test assemblies, and mockups; do not <br />reuse products on Project. <br />2.Testing Agency Responsibilities: Submit a certified written report of each test, inspection, and <br />similar quality-assurance service to Architect with copy to Contractor. Interpret tests and <br />inspections and state in each report whether tested and inspected work complies with or deviates <br />from the Contract Documents. <br />J.Mockups: Before installing portions of the Work requiring mockups, build mockups for each form of <br />construction and finish required to comply with the following requirements, using materials indicated for <br />the completed Work: <br />1.Build mockups of size indicated. <br />2.Build mockups in location indicated or, if not indicated, as directed by Architect. <br />3.Notify Architect seven days in advance of dates and times when mockups will be constructed. <br />4.Employ supervisor y personnel who will oversee mockup construction. Employ workers that will <br />be employed to perform same tasks during the construction at Project. <br />5.Demonstrate the proposed range of aesthetic effects and workmanship. <br />6.Obtain Architect's approval of mockups before starting corresponding work, fabrication, or <br />construction. <br />a.Allow seven days for initial review and each re-review of each mockup. <br />7.Promptly correct unsatisfactory conditions noted by Architect's preliminary review, to the <br />satisfaction of the Architect, before completion of final mockup. <br />8.Approval of mockups by the Architect does not constitute approval of deviations from the <br />Contract Documents contained in mockups unless Architect specifically approves such deviations <br />in writing. <br />9.Maintain mockups during construction in an undisturbed condition as a standard for judging the <br />completed Work. <br />10.Demolish and remove mockups when directed unless otherwise indicated. <br />K.Integrated Exterior Mockups: Construct integrated exterior mockup according to approved Shop <br />Drawings. Coordinate installation of exterior envelope materials and products for which mockups are <br />required in individual Specification Sections, along with supporting materials. Comply with requirements <br />in "Mockups" Paragraph. <br />1. Coordinate construction of the mockup to allow observation of air barrier installation, flashings, <br />air barrier integration with fenestration systems, and other portions of the building air/moisture <br />barrier and drainage assemblies, prior to installation of veneer, cladding elements, and other <br />components that will obscure the work. <br />1.9 QUALITY CONTROL <br />A.Owner Responsibilities: Where quality-control services are indicated as Owner's responsibility, Owner <br />will engage a qualified testing agency to perform these services. <br />1.Owner will furnish Contractor with names, addresses, and telephone numbers of testing agencies <br />engaged and a description of types of testing and inspection they are engaged to perform. <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 09980A3B-0691-41B4-854D-3865F2287392
