The information will be <br />used for siding park facilities and for identifyirig areas of historic and cultural interest for <br />interpretation. l"he expanded development of this 61-acre park and community center complex <br />will be guided with assistance from a Northern Human Services Center Park Master Plan Work <br />Group to be convened this fall. <br />The survey will be comprised of the following principal components: (a) background research, <br />(b) a surface and subsurface investigation of the areas proposed for construction, (c) a limited <br />field reconnaissance of the entire property, and (d) a reporting of results. An interim report will <br />be provided to staff and the park Master Plan Work Group. A final report will be submitted to <br />Orange County by mid December 2003. <br />Orange County received three proposals in response to a September 8 request for proposals <br />(RFP). After a thorough evaluation of the proposals and consultation with the Purchasing <br />Department, ERCD recommends awarding the contract to Legacy Research Associates, Inc. <br />This firm's excellent proposal, high level of experience, familiarity with the region, previous work <br />for Orange County, and anticipated cost of services make them the first choice. Amore <br />detailed evaluation of the proposals is available from ERCD. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The projected cost of the survey is $10,381.76. Funding exists in the <br />current budget via appropriation from November 2001 bonds for this project. <br />
