Is the person in <br />charge of this <br />program or project <br />different from the <br />Authorizing Official? <br />No <br />W hat are you <br />requesting funding <br />for? <br />Operational expense (arts organizations ONLY) <br />Request Summary W e are requesting a grant for $3000 to assist with FRANK gallery's <br />rent of $1,608/month which includes HVAC/trash and water charges <br />by Univ ersity Place. FRANK shows the work of its 22 member artists <br />and also the work of a wide range of local and regional artists <br />including painters, ceramicists, fiber artists, jewelers, photographers <br />and artists working in wood and mixed media. Since the onset of <br />COVID-19 in March 2020, we hav e been busy not only maintaining the <br />quality of art in our Gallery and paying our Gallery manager and rent <br />but also making the work of our participating artists av ailable online. <br />W e hav e created an ongoing v irtual exhibit of all the work that is in <br />the Gallery and set up a v irtual shop. During the lockdown 20% of the <br />shop's proceeds went to PORCH, the local hunger relief non-profit <br />program with the rest going to the gallery and its artists. Now open <br />under NC COVID Stage 2 orders on Thursdays, Fridays and <br />Saturdays from 12-5:00pm, we are also accepting reserv ations for <br />priv ate v iewings often with the purpose of purchasing art. W e are <br />back on our show schedule and are busy interv iewing participating <br />FRANK artists for our online artist talk series. Nev ertheless, we are <br />being dictated by COVID-19's trajectory and if we lock down again we <br />now hav e a robust online presence to present to the community. <br />Essential to ev erything is the retention of our physical exhibition <br />space for which we are seeking operational support. <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 060238A0-9372-4481-BC57-ECCBD1F06A8B
