Location Description There are two locations for the Folk Tales Around the W orld Puppet <br />Project -a physical location and a v irtual location. The project <br />anticipates both in person and v irtual performances based on the <br />Orange County Health Departments COVID 19 guidelines at the time. <br />One location is the Orange County Public Library in an area that <br />allows for any social distancing requirements that may be in place <br />during the Folk Tales Around the W orld Puppet Project time line for <br />completion. In the ev ent the OCPL is closed due to COVID19 <br />restrictions, the Folk Tales Around the W orld Puppet Project will also <br />be av ailable v irtually. In terms of accessibility, the online <br />performances will include close captions. The Orange County Public <br />Library building prov ides access for the disabled inside and outside <br />the building. <br />Artist Description The puppeteer, script writer, prop builder, stage designer, costume <br />maker, choreographer and v ideographer is Kathie Guild, Executiv e <br />Director of Puppet Show Incorporated. Kathie has ov er 30 years <br />experience in teaching children puppetry arts and has published <br />sev eral curriculum guides on integrating puppets in the classroom. <br />Kathie does not receiv e a salary and offers her serv ices as an In- <br />Kind Donation. Kathie has a N.C. Teaching Certificate in School <br />Counseling and is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher. She was <br />awarded the Department of Defense Dependents School's <br />Meritorious Serv ice Award for her puppetry work with students during <br />the Gulf W ar whose parents were deployed. Kathie was awarded the <br />Student Support Teacher of the Year at her school sev eral times and <br />serv ed as the Lead Counselor for the school district. <br />Puppet Show Incorporated utilizes high school and college <br />v olunteers earning Serv ice Learning hours. Students are selected <br />that express and interest in learning about the field of puppetry arts. <br />The students are used in a v ariety of ways such as storytelling, <br />puppet making, filming, creating v ideos, and participating in puppet <br />demonstrations. <br />(Our organization is comprised of an all v olunteer staff.
