Aluminum-Zinc Alloy-Coated Steel Sheet: ASTM A 792/A 792M, Class AZ50 coating <br />designation, Grade 40; structural quality. <br />2. Surface: Smooth, flat. <br />3. Color: As selected by Architect from manufacturer's full range. <br />2.2 MISCELLANEOUS MATERIALS AND ACCESSORIES <br />A. Fasteners: Same metal as sheet metal flashing or other noncorrosive metal as recommended by sheet <br />metal manufacturer. Match finish of exposed heads with material being fastened. <br />1. Fasteners for Stainless-Steel Sheet: Series 316 stainless steel. <br />2. Fasteners for Aluminum-Zinc Alloy-Coated Steel Sheet: Hot-dip galvanized steel according to <br />ASTM A 153/A 153M or ASTM F 2329 or Series 316 stainless steel. <br />B. Asphalt Mastic: SSPC-Paint 12, solvent-type asphalt mastic, nominally free of sulfur and containing no <br />asbestos fibers, compounded for 15-mil dry film thickness per coat. <br />C. Mastic Sealant: Polyisobutylene; nonhardening, non-skinning, nondrying, nonmigrating sealant. <br />D. Elastomeric Sealant: Generic type recommended by sheet metal manufacturer and fabricator of <br />components being sealed and complying with requirements for joint sealants as specified in Division 7 <br />Section "Joint Sealants." <br />E. Paper Slip Sheet: 5-lb/square red rosin, sized building paper conforming to FS UU-B-790, Type I, <br />Style 1b. <br />F. Metal Accessories: Provide sheet metal clips, straps, anchoring devices, and similar accessory units as <br />required for installation of Work, matching or compatible with material being installed; noncorrosive; <br />size and thickness required for performance. <br />G. Special “End Beam Box Flashing” Fabrications- Provide Box End Flashing Assemblies as detailed on <br />drawings consisting of configurations, shapes and gauges as shown at the end of the “glue-lam” beans. <br />Box end flashing shall be constructed of heavy gauge steel assemblies with all joints mitered, fully <br />welded and ground smooth. After fabrication, the box end flashing units shall be hot dip galvanized with <br />a G-90 minimum coating which will be the final finish. <br />2.3 FABRICATION, GENERAL <br />A. Sheet Metal Fabrication Standard: Fabricate sheet metal flashing and trim to comply with <br />recommendations of SMACNA's "Architectural Sheet Metal Manual" that apply to the design, <br />dimensions, metal, and other characteristics of the item indicated. <br />B. Comply with details shown to fabricate sheet metal flashing and trim that fit substrates and result in <br />waterproof and weather-resistant performance once installed. Verify shapes and dimensions of surfaces <br />to be covered before fabricating sheet metal. <br />C. Form exposed sheet metal Work that is without excessive oil canning, buckling, and tool marks and that <br />is true to line and levels indicated, with exposed edges folded back to form hems. <br />D. Expansion Provisions: In gutters, space expansion joints as indicated, or if not indicated place as <br />required to provide for one downspouts to be located in any gutter run between expansion joints, with no <br />joints allowed within 24 inches of corners.
