Purpose: <br /> Orange County, North Carolina is releasing this Request for Proposals (hereafter `RFP') <br /> seeking responses from qualified licensed security firms to provide services for Quality <br /> Inn Chapel Hill - University Area, 1740 Fordham Blvd, Chapel Hill, NC 27514 and <br /> Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham 120 Old Dogwood St, Hillsborough, NC <br /> II. Background: <br /> FEMA has approved North Carolina to provide sheltering alternatives, such as hotels, <br /> motels and dormitories, for North Carolinians with no other safe place to who need to <br /> quarantine or isolate in response to COVID-19 or are at high-risk for severe illness from <br /> COVID-19. Orange County is establishing two such facilities <br /> 1. Quality Inn Chapel Hill. Orange County has secured all 66 rooms at the Inn to <br /> isolate citizens for a period of 20 days <br /> 2. Microtel Inn & Suites Hillsborough. Top floor of facility to provide space for <br /> individuals awaiting test results. Services for this facility will be "on call" <br /> depending whether rooms are being utilized to quarantine <br /> III. Scope of Services: <br /> 1. Successful firm(s) shall provide an un-armed at each facility <br /> 2. The guard(s) will work shifts at each site from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM. (County staff <br /> will fill in during the day) <br /> 3. Quality Inn shall be for a term of 20 consecutive calendar days beginning early <br /> the week of May 10, 2020 <br /> 4. Microtel will be on an as needed basis. Orange County will provide 24 hour <br /> notice and estimated period. <br />
