While they recognize that it isn't a concern for a lot of youth, it is a risk factor for <br /> those youth who are. <br /> Orange Partnership has working with a number of partners on the need for parent education. They became <br /> aware through the DA's office that there are no specific programs for parents when cited with, for <br /> example, aiding and abetting and there is a need for education. For example, there was one instance this <br /> past year where a parent was charged with aiding and abetting because she provided alcohol to her minor <br /> daughter and friend. The parent's rationale was that they are going to drink anyway, so let's provide a safe <br /> space. After the parent was charged,they learned that the only real alcohol education program was for <br /> businesses on how to be a responsible alcohol seller. There hasn't been a lot of cases, but when there is, <br /> where can there education and intervention for the parent, or adult. So, if anyone is interested in being <br /> part of this discussion,please let Gayane know. <br /> The Health Department is trying to centralize COVID information and has lots of resources available and <br /> in multiple languages. It is also very important that you answer the phone if the Health Department calls <br /> because they are doing contact tracing. <br /> Stephanie has a data report that she would like to present on service usage for FY 2019 for both State <br /> funds and Medicaid utilization for youth between 10-17 (community based, crisis,partial, and <br /> residential). The only caveat is that the data for Orange is compiled in with the region for some parts. <br /> Last meeting Lia and Val mentioned the professional development opportunity they were able to attend <br /> with funding from JCPC and Bernard had asked if they could briefly share what they learned. The training <br /> was two series on Real Talk about Race. The youth and families they work with are really picking up on <br /> race and racism and having questions about it. The majority of the training was about how to sustain <br /> meaningful conversation and her main takeaway was on reflective listening and repeating back the <br /> content and emotion.
