2 <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br /> Criminal Justice Resource Department <br /> 2. The Criminal Justice Resource Department (CJRD) has received $575,416 from the North <br /> Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to support justice-involved individuals <br /> with substance use issues during COVID by providing pre- and post-arrest diversion <br /> programs and treatment. The programming will ensure enhanced diversion from the <br /> criminal justice system and early intervention and coordination of immediate treatment <br /> connections for individuals reentering from incarceration. This grant will fund two (2) FTEs, <br /> one Reentry Recovery Navigator and one Recovery Diversion Coordinator as well as <br /> provide funding for positions within Freedom House through a contract. The grant will run <br /> from June 1, 2021 through January 31, 2023.
