126 <br /> RES-2021-045 Attachment 3 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> RESOLUTION LEASING PROPERTY FOR TEN YEARS <br /> Whereas, Orange County owns the Orange County Bonnie B. Davis Environmental and <br /> Agricultural Center, located at 1020 US 70 West, Hillsborough, NC comprising <br /> approximately 17,247 square feet; and <br /> Whereas, the United States Department of Agriculture desires to lease a portion of the <br /> facility equaling 3,502 square feet, including shared access to the large multi-purpose <br /> rooms; and <br /> Whereas, the Farm Service Agency and Natural Resource Conservations Services, <br /> Divisions of the United State Department of Agriculture, administers farm and loan <br /> programs to assist producers in Orange and Durham counties; and <br /> Whereas, North Carolina General Statute 160A-274 authorizes the lease or sale of <br /> county-owned property to another governmental unit with or without consideration; and <br /> Whereas, the United Stated Department of Agriculture desires to lease the a portion of <br /> the Environmental and Agricultural Center for a term of ten (10) years, beginning July 1St <br /> 2021 and ending on June 30t", 2031 for an annual rent of $70,040; and <br /> Whereas, in consideration of the valuable services provided to the residents of Orange <br /> County by the United States Department of Agriculture, the Board of Orange County <br /> Commissioners desires to lease a 3,502 square foot portion of the Environmental and <br /> Agricultural Center to the United States Department of Agriculture, the required notice <br /> has been published and the Board of Commissioners is convened at a regular meeting; <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Orange County Commissioners <br /> hereby approves the lease of a 3,502 square foot portion of the Orange County Bonnie <br /> B. Davis Environmental and Agricultural Center for a term of ten years at an annual rate <br /> of $70,040, ratified the signed lease, and directs the execution, registration and filing of <br /> all necessary instruments accordingly. <br /> This the 15th Day of June 2021. <br /> Renee Price, Chair <br /> Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />
