2 <br /> • Public Awareness: the JCPC announces meetings in advance to the public and makes the <br /> community aware of the results of the planning process; <br /> • Risk Factor Assessment: the JCPC documents prioritization of risk factors; <br /> • Comprehensive Strategy Assessment: the JCPC documents services available to meet <br /> prioritized risk factors and an assessment of gaps issues and barriers to needed services; <br /> • Needed Interventions: the JCPC documents the prioritized, needed interventions; <br /> • Outcomes and Strategies: the JCPC reviews juvenile justice data and develops specific <br /> outcomes and strategies for implementation; <br /> • Funding: the JCPC Annual Plan includes the Funding Plan <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The Certification document must be received by the NC Department of <br /> Public Safety, Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice, by June 30, 2021 in order for local <br /> program funds to be disbursed beginning in the month of July. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is applicable to <br /> this item: <br /> • GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br /> The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior injuries, gang <br /> activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: There is no Orange County Environmental Responsibility Goal <br /> impact associated with this item. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the JCPC <br /> Certification and County Plan for FY 2021-2022 and authorize the Chair to sign the associated <br /> documents. <br />
