(All other staff members will be identified <br /> 18 appropriately below) <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Chair Price called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 A roll call was called; all members were present, except for Commissioner Dorosin and <br /> 23 Commissioner McKee. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Commissioner Dorosin arrived at 7:02 p.m. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Due to current public health concerns, the Board of Commissioners is conducting a Virtual <br /> 28 Budget Work Session on May 13, 2021 utilizing Zoom. Members of the Board of Commissioners <br /> 29 will be participating in the meeting remotely. As in prior meetings, members of the public will be <br /> 30 able to view and listen to the meeting via live streaming video at <br /> 31 orangecountync.gov/967/Meeting-Videos and on Orange County Gov-TV on channels 1301 or <br /> 32 97.6 (Spectrum Cable). <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Chair Price welcomed all attendees, and briefly went over the agenda for the meeting. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 1. FY 2021-22 Operating and CIP Budget Discussions, with: <br /> 37 Durham Technical Community College, Pg. 164 and Pgs. 232-236 <br /> 38 Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools, Pg. 164 and Pgs. 169 - 203 <br /> 39 Orange County Schools, Pg. 164 and Pgs. 204 - 231 <br /> 40 <br /> 41 BACKGROUND: <br /> 42 The County Manager presented the FY 2021-22 recommended budget on May 4, 2021. Since <br /> 43 that time, the Board has conducted one public hearing to receive residents' comments <br /> 44 regarding the proposed funding plan. Tonight's work session is the first opportunity the Board <br /> 45 has had to discuss next year's recommended funding plan related to Education funding. Total <br /> 46 Education funding, as included in the FY 2021-22 Manager Recommended Budget is <br /> 47 $117,837,622, or 48.7 percent of General Fund revenues. <br /> 48 <br /> 49 County Support of Local Boards of Education <br />
