Mrs. Spencer requested that the
property owned by the Federation in Cheoel Hill be exempt from scanty tax as the Federation is a
non-profit organization.
Upon motion of Commissioner Jones, seconded by Commissioner Walker, and unanimously adopted,
no action was taken and the matter was tabled until a study could be made concerning the tax
exempt property in the County. The County Accountant was requested to advise Mrs. Spencer that
such a study would be made at a later date and that she would be notified if her request was
valid.
Dee following resolution was presented from the Agricultural Extension Advisory Board:
"Be it resolved that we, members of the Orange County Agricultural Extension Advisory Board,
met in regular session this 8th day of May, respectfully request that the Board of County Commissioners
consider the urgency for the immediate construction of the county Agricultural Building, and
implement same by sopropriation of sufficient funds to get this construction underway at the
earliest possible moment.
/s/ Z.
