The County has received $ 14 , 419 , 861 in American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) funds from <br /> the U . S . Department of the Treasury in FY 2020 -21 . This budget amendment provides for <br /> the receipt of these funds in FY 2020 -21 in a multi -year Emergency Recovery Fund , outside <br /> of the General Fund . (See Attachment 1 , column #4) <br /> These funds must be expended by December 31 , 2024 , and can be used to : <br /> • Support urgent COVID - 19 response efforts to continue to decrease spread of the <br /> virus and bring the pandemic under control ; <br /> • Replace lost public sector revenue to strengthen support for vital public services <br /> and help retain jobs ; <br /> • Support immediate economic stabilization for households and businesses , and ; <br /> • Address systemic public health and economic challenges that have contributed to <br /> the inequal impact of the pandemic on certain populations <br /> County staff is compiling a list of permissible uses from all departments and will provide a <br /> compilation list for Board review at its June 3 , 2021 meeting . <br />
