The County has received $14,419,861 in American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) funds from <br /> the U. S. Department of the Treasury in FY 2020-21. This budget amendment provides for <br /> the receipt of these funds in FY 2020-21 in a multi-year Emergency Recovery Fund, outside <br /> of the General Fund. (See Attachment 1, column #4) <br /> These funds must be expended by December 31, 2024, and can be used to: <br /> • Support urgent COVID-19 response efforts to continue to decrease spread of the <br /> virus and bring the pandemic under control; <br /> • Replace lost public sector revenue to strengthen support for vital public services <br /> and help retain jobs; <br /> • Support immediate economic stabilization for households and businesses, and; <br /> • Address systemic public health and economic challenges that have contributed to <br /> the inequal impact of the pandemic on certain populations <br /> County staff is compiling a list of permissible uses from all departments and will provide a <br /> compilation list for Board review at its June 3, 2021 meeting. <br />
