Historic Preservation Commission —Appointment Discussion <br /> The Board will discuss an appointment to the Historic Preservation Commission. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The following appointment information is for Board consideration. <br /> NAME SPECIAL TYPE OF EXPIRATION <br /> REPRESENTATIVE APPOINTMENT DATE <br /> TERM <br /> Paul Noe At-Large Second Full Term 03/31/2024 <br /> Re-Appointment <br /> NOTE — If the individuals listed above are appointed, the following vacancies remain: <br /> POSITION EXPIRATION VACANCY INFORMATION <br /> DESIGNATION DATE <br /> At-Large 03/31/2024 Vacant since 01/11/2021 <br /> Tara May introduced the item, and said that earlier in the meeting, the Board of County <br /> Commissioners expressed interest in appointing Sarah Shore to the vacant At-Large position. <br /> Chair Price expressed concern about the lack of diversity on the Historic Preservation <br /> Commission. <br /> Commissioner Dorosin recommended Paul Noe and Sarah Shore for appointments to <br /> the Historic Preservation Commission. <br /> Chair Price said she will support Sarah Shore, but she would rather wait to fill the <br /> vacancy until the BOCC can get a more diverse applicant pool. <br /> Commissioner Fowler asked if the total number of positions on the HPC could be <br /> identified. <br /> Chair Price said there are 7 positions. <br /> Commissioner Fowler asked if the member serve 2 three-year terms. <br /> Chair Price said she has no issues with Ms. Shore, and she just wanted to see more <br /> diversity. <br /> Commissioner Bedford said a few people will rotate off next year. <br /> Chair Price said does not accept excuses, and feels strongly there should be diversity. <br /> 7.
