Such frames and covers shall be <br /> manufactured by Neenah Foundry, Dewey Brothers, Inc., or equal. <br /> 2.22 AIR RELEASE VALVES <br /> A. Air release valves shall be the long stem and body type designed to keep the valve <br /> operating mechanism as free from contract with the sewage as possible. Valves shall <br /> have 2" threaded inlet, with 1" blow off connection with 1" blow off valve (gate valve), '/2" <br /> back flushing attachments with '/2' outlet. Outlet and back flushing connections shall be <br /> quick couplings. Valve shall have a minimum of/" diameter orifice. <br /> B. Valve body shall be cast iron; mechanism and seat, bronze; lever pins, stainless steel; <br /> and float, stainless steel. Valves shall be suitable for 150 psi working pressure. Valves <br /> shall be as manufactured by the Multiplex Manufacturing Company, the Valve and Primer <br /> Company, Val-Matic Manufacturing Corporation, or equal. <br /> 2.23 AIR AND VACUUM SEWER VALVES <br /> A. Steel encasement pipe shall have a minimum thickness as indicated in <br /> the plans for bores under highways and shall meet ASTM Specifications A252 with a minimum <br /> yield strength of 35,000 psi. <br /> PART 3 - MATERIAL TESTING <br /> Material shall be tested in accordance with the General Conditions of these Specifications and the <br /> following: <br /> 3.1 PIPE <br /> A. Each joint of pipe shall be subjected to and successfully meet hydrostatic proof test in <br /> accordance with ANSI requirements for each type. Cast iron pipe shall be tested prior to <br /> lining. Certified test results shall be furnished to the Engineer, for each shipment of pipe. <br /> B.
