4 <br /> Attachment 2 <br /> Ordinance # ORD-2021-011 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE <br /> UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE and <br /> 2030 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OF ORANGE COUNTY <br /> Whereas, In July 2019, the North Carolina General Assembly adopted legislation that <br /> entailed the first major recodification and modernization of city and county development <br /> regulations since 1905 and codified land use and zoning statutes into a new chapter, 160D <br /> (Local Planning and Development Regulation), of the North Carolina General Statutes, and <br /> Whereas, all local governments that exercise zoning authority in North Carolina are <br /> required to conform their ordinances to NCGS Chapter 160D by July 1, 2021 , and <br /> Whereas, County staff has completed necessary amendments to the Orange County <br /> Unified Development Ordinance and 2030 Comprehensive Plan, and <br /> Whereas, the requirements of Section 2.3 Comprehensive Plan Amendments and Section <br /> 2.8 Zoning Atlas and Unified Development Ordinance Amendments of the Unified Development <br /> Ordinance have been deemed complete, and <br /> Whereas, the Orange County Planning Board has recommended approval of the proposed <br /> text amendments, and <br /> Whereas, the County has held the required public hearing and has found the proposed <br /> text amendments are consistent with the goals and policies of the adopted Comprehensive <br /> Plan. <br /> Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Orange County that the Unified <br /> Development Ordinance and 2030 Comprehensive Plan of Orange County are hereby <br /> amended as depicted in the attached pages. <br /> Be it further ordained that this ordinance be placed in the book of published ordinances <br /> and that this ordinance is effective upon its adoption. <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner seconded by Commissioner <br /> , the foregoing ordinance was adopted this day of <br /> , 2021. <br />
