Article 1: Administration 18 <br /> Section 1.7: Comprehensive Plan <br /> (B) The Board of County Commissioners must approve all work assignments or projects <br /> requested by the Planning Board outside of work product associated with this <br /> Ordinance prior to the commencement of work. <br /> ''�1.6.6 Rules of Procedure <br /> The Planning Board shall conduct its affairs in accordance with the "Orange County Board of <br /> County Commissioners Advisory Board Policy" and the"Planning Board Policies and <br /> Procedures". <br /> 1.6.61.6.7 Notification of Meetings <br /> All meetings shall be open to the public. The Planning Director shall cause notices to be given as <br /> required under: <br /> (A) Article 33C, Chapter 143 of the North Carolina General Statutes; <br /> (B) 143-318.11 of the North Carolina General Statutes; and <br /> (C) Article 2 of this Ordinance. <br /> 1.6.71.6.8 Meeting Minutes <br /> The Planning Beard Director shall cause minutes of its-Planning Board meetings to be maintained <br /> as a permanent public record. Such minutes shall record the attendance of its members, its <br /> findings, recommendations, and a summary of information, data and comments presented to it. <br /> SECTIONCOMPREHENSIVE <br /> 1.7.1 Intent <br /> (A) The Comprehensive Plan shall constitute an internally consistent and compatible <br /> statement of policies for the long term nhySiGal development thothat sets forth goals, <br /> policies, and programs intended to guide the present and future physical, social, and <br /> economic development of that portion of Orange County under County jurisdiction, in <br /> accordance with NCGS 160D-501.20 <br /> prepesals fer ph„siGal deyelopmo^+. The Comprehensive Plan shall periodically be <br /> reviewed and maintained to ensure the relevance of policies to current and protected <br /> conditions.77 <br /> — <br /> (G)(B)Land use regulations are intended to be consistent with the adopted Comprehensive <br /> Plan. <br /> 1.7.2 Elements <br /> The Comprehensive Plan shall be comprised of the following elements: <br /> (A) Economic Development <br /> (B) Housing <br /> (C) Land Use <br /> 20 NC jurisdictions exercising zoning authority are now required to adopt and "reasonably maintain"a <br /> Comprehensive Plan. The amendments in this section reflect the language in 160D-501. <br /> 21 The new statutes(160D-501) do not prescribe a timeframe in which a Comprehensive Plan must be <br /> reviewed/updated because the necessity will vary considerably among the hundreds of NC local governments that <br /> exercise zoning authority.
