Article 1: Administration 11 <br /> Section 1.2: Official Zoning Atlas <br /> (2) The ards shall limit development to the type that would bep ed under <br /> the existing s s contained in this Ordinance a hat which is in <br /> accord with the contemp Ian or its i nting mechanisms; <br /> (3) The standards may be in only in a affected by the contemplated <br /> plan and/or in s implementing mechanisms ly; and <br /> (4) s andards may limit the nature and type of development app i sand <br /> projects which are approved throughout the duration of the standards. <br /> SECTIONOFFICIAL ZONING <br /> 1.2.1 Generally <br /> (A) The Orange County planning and zoning jurisdiction shall be, and hereby is, divided <br /> into Zoning Districts as detailed in Article 3 of this Ordinance. <br /> (B) The boundaries of said Zoning Districts are hereby established as shown on the <br /> Official Zoning Atlas which accompanies this Ordinance and which, with all notations, <br /> references, and other information shown thereon, shall be as much a part of this <br /> Ordinance as it is fully described herein. Maps and descriptions accompanying <br /> enacted amendments shall be displayed by the Planning Department adjacent to the <br /> Official Zoning Atlas until such time as the official copy is corrected. <br /> (C) The Official Zoning Atlas and any subsequent amendments shall be authenticated by <br /> the Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners and kept on file in the Planning <br /> Department. The so-rFe Official Zoning Atlas and prior Z^^i Tversions may be <br /> maintained either in paper or digital format.- <br /> (D) Copies of the Official Zoning Map Atlas, or portions thereof, may be made from time <br /> to time. These copies are for informational purposes only and the Official Zoning <br /> Atlas, as described herein, shall be the final and sole authority as to the zoning status <br /> of land within the zoning jurisdiction of Orange County. <br /> (E) The Planning Director shall be responsible for entering amendments to the Offici <br /> Zoning Atlas. <br /> The Planning Director shall authenticate the entry of each amendment he Official <br /> oning Atlas and shall maintain a record of the nature and date of Ty of each <br /> a ndment. <br /> (G) Change the Official Zoning Atlas, other than those au rized by duly approved <br /> amendment this Ordinance, shall not be made. T making of unauthorized <br /> changes to the ' ial Zoning Atlas shall be con ' ered a violation of this Ordinance. <br /> (H) Amendments to this Or ' ance that result i e change in classification of any piece <br /> of land shall become effects immedi y upon enactment by the Board of County <br /> Commissioners. The Board of y Commissioners, upon a finding of due cause, <br /> may extend the effective date any ch amendments. <br /> (1) When all or part of the O 1 ial Zoning Atlas comes damaged, lost, destroyed, worn <br /> or hard to interpret b eason of its age, conditi number of changes or otherwise, <br /> the Atlas shatlall b eplaced by the Planning Director. his new edition of the Official <br /> Zoning As ay not change the zoning status of any p erty. Such replacements <br /> shall be henticated by the Clerk of the Board of County missioners and shall <br /> bear a date of replacement. <br /> 1.2.2 Interpre ion of Zoning District Boundaries <br /> W n there is any uncertainty as to the intended location of any zoning district boundary on <br /> oning Atlas, the Planning Director shall make an interpretation of the Atlas upon request of�any <br /> $New provision in NCGS 160D-105. <br /> Orange County, North Carolina-Unified Development Ordinance Page 1-8 <br />
