In the sixty-minute breakout room session, the arts specialists will present a <br /> sample lesson plan that integrates literacy, SEL, and visual or performing art and then guide the <br /> participants in an interactive brainstorming and idea session. In the final twenty minutes of the <br /> workshop, participants will regroup to share their reflections and final thoughts. Participants will <br /> leave the workshop with a link of SEL, literacy, and arts education resources, practical lesson <br /> plans, and a certificate of completion. <br /> Each workshop will be limited to 25 participants. The workshop will cost $15 (with a limited <br /> number of scholarships available) and teachers will be presented with a certificate of completion <br /> that will allow them to earn literacy CEUs. <br /> The budget for these workshops is as follows: Keynote speaker for both workshops = $620; <br /> Literary Specialist for both workshops= $620; Two Workshop Facilitators for break out groups = <br /> $1,240; Two Grade K-2 Performing Arts/Visual Arts Specialists for breakout groups = 840; Two <br /> Grade 3-5 Performing Arts/Visual Arts Specialists for breakout groups= $840; and Admin/project <br /> management/financial accounting = $1,740. This is a total expense of$5,900. Assuming an <br /> income of$400 from tuition with scholarships, this leaves a gap of$5,500 which is our request <br /> to the Orange County Arts Commission. This budget can be refined and adjusted as needed; <br /> this is meant as an estimate of income and expense categories. <br /> Thank you for your partnership in this important project and consideration of this funding <br /> request. <br />
